“The Subtle Bigotry of Low Expectations”

Society expects less for the people we support: Fewer opportunities, lower standards of achievement, limits to integration. They talk the talk, but practical access is still unattainable.

A mobility impairment is not imposed by governments or criminals, but it still fundamentally restricts liberty and it impacts freedom. Breaking free takes more than a change in attitude or a key in a lock. It takes practical solutions.

We can accept disability as nature taking its course, or we can fix it.

To prevent social debilitation, Lives Set in Motion addresses physical loss of freedom with what humans do best: technology and innovation.

In our century, we treat all kinds of innovations as human rights. Everyone needs running water, electricity, heating, telephone and internet... yet our ancestors and predecessors managed without these things. We have the technology to provide them, and so we treat them as a necessity. To leave some without them is unfair. And we continue to innovate to make our lives better still.

We also have the technology to liberate motor-impaired children. We just have to apply it.

Please join us in being the catalyst to advance innovation in personal and childhood mobility.

Engaging with the physical world without compromise.
